This time last year the Chicago Bulls organization fell into a gift courtesy of the NBA Draft Lottery and was given the #1 pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. It came at a very opportune time for this organization. Most everyone knew at that time that the pick would end up being Derrick Rose. The Bulls did their due diligence and looked into Michael Beasley but the vast majority of Bulls fans already knew that getting that gift of the number one pick meant our own Chicago boy, Rose, would be coming. This all happened coming off a very tough season where the team fell back down to earth after some mild playoff success in recent years. The franchise was not in a good place, had a lot of uncertainty, bad contracts and the outlook was not very “Rosey” for the team making the leap back into playoff contention. Had they not gotten the #1 pick and ended up at #9, as was the most likely scenario then, the team was without a doubt due for a lot of personnel changes. It had to because it was obvious the team as constituted was not going anywhere.

Does Ben Gordon go one on one too much?   This is a common complaint put forth by Gordon detractors.   Since I have the means, the time, and the intense desire to find out the truth I decided to research this topic by the numbers.

There is nothing in the world.....NOTHING....that pisses me off more then teams who think they are entitled. Teams that think they are too good for the regular season, too good for teams in the playoffs and take nights off, becuase no matter what, they think they will win when it counts. Teams that feel they are entitled to a championship and they can look down upon their competition because they are inferior. It's the reason I hated Detroit after 2005, it was that season, they stoped playing as a team. Sheed took wild shots. Ben Wallace wanted the ball more and everyone besides Chauncy Billups felt they could take plays off (as they did in the 2005 NBA Finals where they should of won a back to back title, but gave up on multiple games). Detroit seemed to forget the pervious year, where they had to pull together and play great team ball to beat another bunch of pathetic underachievers, the LA LAKERS! It is like Deja Vu in Lakerland as the Lakers look ready to blow it again.

Here's what we know so far. Derrick Rose is a star in the making, Ben Gordon is a UFA and the Bulls have just come off a first round exit led by a rookie head coach in Vinny Del Negro. So many questions are left unanswered, and yet, the future couldn't seem brighter.
