There is nothing in the world.....NOTHING....that pisses me off more then teams who think they are entitled. Teams that think they are too good for the regular season, too good for teams in the playoffs and take nights off, becuase no matter what, they think they will win when it counts. Teams that feel they are entitled to a championship and they can look down upon their competition because they are inferior. It's the reason I hated Detroit after 2005, it was that season, they stoped playing as a team. Sheed took wild shots. Ben Wallace wanted the ball more and everyone besides Chauncy Billups felt they could take plays off (as they did in the 2005 NBA Finals where they should of won a back to back title, but gave up on multiple games). Detroit seemed to forget the pervious year, where they had to pull together and play great team ball to beat another bunch of pathetic underachievers, the LA LAKERS! It is like Deja Vu in Lakerland as the Lakers look ready to blow it again.

Let's be honest, the Lakers are without a doubt the most talented team in the NBA. They have the best coach, the best (or second best) player, an all-star big, solid role players and mad depth. It should be a CAKEWALK for LA to win the championship. The only team with as much as the LA Lakers, is maybe Boston and they have lost Keven Garnett. It is seriously as if god himself, came down to earth and rolled out a red carpet from the Staple Center to the the Larry O'Brien trophy.  However on their way down the red carpet, something strange has happened.......the LA Lakers have collectivly pulled down their shorts and taken a giant dump on it!

In all my life, I have never seen performances as pathetic as the Lakers against Houston in games 4 and 6. I honestly believe that Yao went down after game 3 and in Phil's post game speech, he said "Boy's don't work too hard, we have 2 series to go. Hey Kobe, your taking a bit too good of shots. Relax a bit, don't go to the hoop....take wild fade aways when you get double teamed! Make angry faces at Ron-Ron a little bit. The crowd will and you won't twist an anke!"

I blame no one for these performances more then then the teams leader, Kobe Bryant. When a team comes out flat, it is the duty of a teams leader to be the teams rock. To put the team on his back and make plays. To get to the hoop. To get to the line. To be more aggressive and inspire his team. In games 4 and 6 of this series, Kobe has done nothing when his team has team came out to large deficits. He takes crappy shot after crappy shot. He went 11 for 27 in game 6.  He shows no emotion. He doesn't make plays. He doesn't care. This is his team and when Kobe comes out without the killer instinct, his team quickly follows suit.

Simply put, THIS Houston Rockets team SHOULD NOT be competing with THIS LA Lakers team. Though it was still pathetic, I can take the Lakers loss in game 1. However, without Yao Ming, the Lakers have probobly 4 of the top 5 players on the court at any given time. I do not want to take anything away from the Houston Rockets. They are a good basketball team. They have played great under the pressure of loosing their best player. They had a nice season considering the loss of Tracy McGradey. They are a phenominal defensive team and very well coached. However, no matter how well they play, they should not be able to compete with THIS LAKERS TEAM. It sholdn't happen and the effort is disgusting.

I believe the Lakers will win game 7. They will turn the jets on in front of their fans and maybe even give Houston a spanking as they have twice already at the Staples Center. The Lakers are going to be in for a big surprise though when they get to the next round. They will be playing another team with inferior talent, but the Denver Nuggets are playing with intensity. They are stomping on the throats of inferior teams. This is what good teams do. In lopsided matchups, they go out, take care of business and don't break a sweat. The Nuggets have something to prove and the Lakers feel they have already proved. Though they have proved nothing. When the Lakers loose in either the next round or the round after that, it will be a sad day. It will blemish the career for one of the best coaches of all time, because no matter how many championships he has won, he couldn't come through 2 times when he really should have and clearly had the best teams in the leauge. It will make a team that had the potential to be a mini-dynasty , nothing but a blurr in peoples memories within 3 years. Most of all though, it will mark the day that we finally all realize what has been so apparent for so long, that Kobe Bryant had all the talent in the world, but a head that was bigger then Charles Barkey's ass the one of the worst attitudes in history. It is time for Kobe to step aside. There is a new king in town.
